Keeping That Garden Green And Lush All Year

If you wish to see chains of flowers and plants blooming all the time in your gardens, you will have to use a combination of science and luck. You need to know that there are certain elements such as grazing animals and weather, which can create hurdles for you in doing so. There are certain seasons where certain flowers and plants do not show good growth. You can use a number of tricks to maintain the color of the garden throughout the year. Keep it green, and keep it renewable.

The first thing that you can do is deadheading. In this, you will have to get rid of the spent blossoms. The annuals are the plants that benefit the most from this practice. A number of perennial flowers that will see the bloom again if deadheading is done. You will have to cut the whole plant stalk closely until the base. Another practice can be shearing. If the plants produce multiple buds and you are not able to deadhead them, you can wait for the buds to fade and then shear the plant to its one-third size. The plant will get a new life when you do this.

Step pruning is a clever way to make sure that the perennial blooms remain for a longer period. The plants have to be divided into three parts. Once you see that the plants have grown in height, prune the sections in the center and the front. This will give levels to your plants and they will flower after one another. If you think pruning will not help, you can try re-seeding as well. Make use of the annuals, as they are the best option for keeping your garden colorful for the whole season. Some plants do not respond to the above-mentioned practices and thus you can plant the annuals after the initial seeding.

The practice of feeding is also popular. You should know that flowering plants require more energy. If you feed them with fertilizers with controlled release, you will have to repeat the same after every three to five weeks. Make use of these practices and the color will never fade away from your lawns.
